They run a true full-service playbook, with a few caveats.

• Get a price estimate. Use the online form or call the office. For locals, you’ll get an hourly estimate; for long-distance, they’ll estimate shipment weight or cubic feet. Give them an accurate inventory – it’s the difference between a smooth day and a long one.
• Reserve your slot. They confirm details in writing, then call the day before to reconfirm. Morning slots are fixed; afternoon/evening slots use a window because traffic and earlier jobs can affect timing.
• Customer support. Their office staff is trained under ICC rules and will walk you through services and pricing. My questions about elevator reservations and COI (certificate of insurance) got clear answers.

• On arrival. The lead does a quick walkthrough, confirms the plan, and sets floor/wall protection. You can call out fragile zones and no-stack items here.
• Packing & handling. Blankets, shrink-wrap, and labeled boxes. Fragile packing is worth it if you’re short on time – their FAQ even spells out how they want fragile items wrapped when you pack yourself.
• Delays, cancellations, damages. Afternoon jobs have an arrival window; that’s normal in Chicago. For interstate moves, H2H must provide the federal “Rights & Responsibilities” booklet explaining loss/damage liability and valuation choices – read it and choose your coverage level. If you need to change scope (add a stop, add packing), tell dispatch early; changes can affect hours and cost.

If your bill is $1,050, your normalized cost is $70 per mover-hour. It’s a clean way to compare one mover’s efficiency against another in Chicago’s hourly market. (Local reference points put many hourly movers in the ~$80 per mover-hour ballpark once you average across crews and seasons.)

If you live in the city or nearby suburbs, you’re in their sweet spot. For interstate work, they’ll originate in Chicago and deliver out-of-state with expedited timing.

Yes – especially for Chicago apartment and condo moves, and for direct, expedited long-distance runs where you don’t want your shipment mixed with other families’ goods. Pricing is clear, crews are trained, and communication is grown-up and predictable.

Who shouldn’t pick them? If you need weeks of integrated storage inside the moving company’s own warehouse, H2H isn’t set up like a big van line with massive storage nodes.
